Equipment

  • Double boilder or microwave

Ingredients

  • 2 pints fresh figs
  • 1 ¼ bars gluten-free & sugar-free chocolate bars

Instructions

  • Wash figs and cut lengthwise with knife.
  • Place in the freezer on parchment paper for 10 minutes.
  • In a double boiler on medium heat melt the chocolate.  Once melted move to low heat and keep on low heat for the entire chocolate dipping process.  (this prevents the chocolate from clumping)
  • Remove figs from the freezer and dip each fig into the chocolate mixture halfway. Then place chocolate covered figs on parchment paper in the freezer and let the chocolate freeze for about 20 minutes. Keep frozen or keep in the fridge until ready to eat. Remember to keep them in a closed zip lock bag or container.

Notes

  • Make sure you are using gluten-free 69%, 72%, 80%, or 100% chocolate that has no dairy in it such as like Enjoy Life, Hu Kitchen, Lily's, Navitas Naturals.
  • If you need this to be candida friendly use coconut oil and raw cacao powder, mix together, and warm.  You can add a few drops of stevia for candida.
