SUPERFOOD HOT COCOA TIPS
- So Delicious Unsweetened Coconut Milk for my choice of milk

- Don’t use artificial maple syrup!
- I use Vital Proteins Unflavored Collagen Peptides
- Don’t have nutmeg? Omit it
WHICH INGREDIENTS ARE CONSIDERED SUPERFOODS?
- Collagen
- Coconut butter
- Coconut oil
- Cacao powder
You may be wondering why all the superfoods and then use Hershey powder? It’s a long story, but in a nutshell, Hershey’s is a certified gluten-free brand that makes me feel comfortable because I know it is Celiac-safe. Also, I’m highly allergic to cockroaches, and guess what? In climates where Cacao is produced and grown, cockroaches live, and small amounts of their feces are allowed in the raw state of chocolate according to the FDA. While it’s in extremely small amounts, I end up on Benadryl. Cacao is chocolate in its original form.
Since Cacao is cooked at a low heat to keep the nutrients intact, it also keeps my allergens intact and I react every time I eat it. So I use Hershey’s, or other forms of cocoa powder because it’s processed. And the processed versions do not affect me. In addition, the processed version leaves the flavor, but not the nutrients. This may help you as well.

Love and nourishment,
I love a nice mug of hot chocolate. SO comforting and delicious, especially if the cacao or cocoa powder is of high-quality! I love making hot chocolate with cacao powder, almond milk or cashew milk, Stevia, and cinnamon!
Yum that sounds delish! I can’t touch nuts of any kind except coconut, black walnut herb, and shea. But that sounds delightful and I’m glad you enjoy plant-based fun! Are you in healing or a wellness junkie? Happy Sunday!
