Last Sunday I went to one of my favorite annual events called Crazy Sexy Miracles hosted by Gabrielle Bernstein and Kris Carr. It's one of my most favored events because two of my spiritual and healthy living guru's chit chat about how to live your life inspired and filled with purpose even if you are suffering. The army of support created by these two ladies makes me never want to give up hope, and keeps me inspired on the regular. Doing this event in January, is almost like a diet, or a New Years Resolution, but THIS sticks. THIS talk shapes my year. This talk creates inspiration, love, hope and community.
I was first introduced to Gabby Bernstein and Kris Carr when I attended Nutrition school in 2013. It was just a whisper here and there, an instagram picture floating around. And it wasn't until my own health issues led me down a road of despair that I really tuned into both of their work. Since then, both of these ladies have been my rock solid support. If in life, you can come across someone who provides you with hope and inspiration just by their own journey or their own words, then you really have hit a goldmine. It's not often we are able to see these people as messengers of God or gifts from God, and I am so blessed that I have. I would recommend this event to anyone looking to open up, cope differently, see differently, hear differently and anyone who needs some form of inspired support. Because friends? These snazzy ladies are it!
My first Crazy Sexy Miracles event was in January of 2015. I cried. I teared. I wore mascara, which was a mistake. I sniffled and I took gobs of notes that to this day I still have. With every insight I found myself nodding and quietly saying "yes!". And I found myself in the same position this year, minus the mascara since tears and mascara do not mix. I just kept shaking my head reaffirming the type of action I needed to take to inspire myself, to create movement on this journey of life I was on, to remember my purpose.
But it wasn't just about listening to the hottie babes dressed in awesome designer labels on stage talking about spirituality and health. There was meditating, singing, talking, asking questions and listening to everyone share their journey's. It was a full body experience filled with sparkle. Sitting front row, which was totally unexpected was the icing on the cake! I fully manifested that one.
So here I am writing about this event because I want to share the glorious inspiration with all of you guys too, so that you can feel the love and support (and grab those tickets for next year!).
So get ready for mad inspiration! Either print this blog, and get your pen and notebook out, because these insights are keepers. I only ask that you eliminate judgement, stay open and receptive to this guidance. Hearing guidance doesn't change your life, but taking this guidance and using it for the greater good in your life does.
Every inspiring thought that I have written here, is pulled from my notebook. I had so many favorites, I ended up with 6 pages of notes! But below, are the words that inspired me the most. I call them game changers.
From Gabby:
When you are ready the Universe moves mountains for you.
When you are ready, get ready to see the signs, because there will be signs.
Holding on too tight gets in the way of God's plan.
When you think you have surrendered, surrender some more.
How To Really Surrender:
Take your hands off the wheel.
Pray and ask Spirit/God/Divine/Universe "How would you use me, let me be a vessel" and then listen. This is a daily devotion.
Release Time. Dive into the energy of the present moment. When we live ahead is when we future trip. (aka, go cray with anxiety).
****
We must believe that the light has already come.
Live in the light which is here right now. Not when you heal, not when things get better, not when you become the person you want to be, get the car you want, the big house, the ring on your finger, the acne off your face, the weight off your body etc...
Give up the outcome.
The secret to prayer is to forget the outcome, forget what you think you need.
Say yes to the life you have right now - not the one you want, the one you don't have, the one you think you don't deserve, the one where ________ issue is better. This one. This life.
From Kris:
Be mindful of the energy you bring into your space of mediation, yoga and other spiritual self-care rituals.
When it comes to mediation, yoga, salt baths, energy healings, angel card readings, journaling and all other spiritual self-care rituals you can think of, know that this is your tool box. Flex it. It is there for you, and you do not have to do all of them all at once. Choose what you need energetically.
Tone down the fight or flight by nourishing the nervous system. Just sit and be present. You do not need to move mountains.
How to remove judgment:
Practice meeting people as if it is the first time - minus the judgement - minus your past experiences with that person or the past you project onto them.
Don't attach your self-worth to external validation.
How to make the right decisions for you:
Make decisions from a place of goosebumps. Making decisions from goosebumps, is working with your soul and will not result in burnout.
Making decisions from power, money and judgement is working with your ego, which will result in burnout.
All ego based goals = burnout
Learn to celebrate your failures. Changes are you will learn how to grow, rather then judging your failures.
How To Manifest What You Want:
Get clear on your WHY - this results in a bigger impact which is your set up for manifesting.
Why you want to do what you do
Why you want the relationships you want
Why you want or have the career you want or have
Why you want to do what you want to do
Understand your want.
Laser focus on your wants.
When in doubt, when in fear, when in overwhelm, when in underwhelm, forgive yourself for sucking, and leave room for grace and space (to grow)
Know that passion is energy - not an end point
Follow your whimsy, wonder, curiosity with no agenda.
Be in joy and let it go.
From Gabby & Kris:
When we think our purpose is about us, we are in the way. Our purpose is about serving. And our past, our issues are our vehicle.
Joy attracts what you want, and far beyond it.
Releasing is the most important step.
Joy does not occur because "this" turned out how it needs to be.
Joy = Joy + Show me what you've got.
Lastly...
Don't let your fear become your fact.
Anxiety comes from fear. Fear is lessened when we stay in the moment.
*****
Caffeine:
On a side note, I gave up decaf coffee and caffeine because my body just couldn't handle it. With high cortisol levels and other health related issues, decaf coffee and even the smallest bite of chocolate makes me feel so awake, that I can't sleep at all. So I eliminated it. It seems that when I am not in New York City and I'm let's say in Minnesota (like I went in July when I visited the Mayo Clinic), I can have a Venti decaf Starbucks with no issues of insomnia or insane anxiety. There I felt relaxed. But here in NYC, where I live, It's just too stimulating. And I was missing it. Feeling sorry for myself that I couldn't even have coffee as a treat while I am creating all these diet and lifestyle changes for the past almost 3 years. But something that Gabby Bernstein said, not only made sense, but changed my perspective.
"Getting off caffeine is not only for your diet or your health, but helps you stay in the present moment and keeps you grounded."
I realized I was looking at this all wrong. That eliminating caffeine is for my highest good, and is not a punishment. And now I don't feel so bad that I can't have coffee. If it's going to take me out of my element in a negative way, then I don't need it.
Since we all have different purposes in this lifetime, It is important to pay attention to the signs that are being presented to us, these signs are here to help us, inspire us, bring us joy and move us along on our path.
I hope that you enjoyed this post. I hope that you were able to take a piece of it and let it inspire you, give you hope, support you and create a sparkle in your eyes.
Love and Light,
