How to Change Your Mood Instantly!

We've all been there before.  In that bad mood.  Unable to switch out of it or switch it off.  Canceling your plans because you are in a funk.  Staying in bed because tomorrow will be another day?

Oh, that's why you're acting that way.  That's why nothing got done today.  That's why you can't spread your light today, do that big project, that small project, can't spend time with friends or family.

That's why you're crying?  You feel an energy that you cannot shift, but it feels so off.  It feels like you have to wipe that energy off your body and you cannot find a way to do so.  Is that it?

You're justing waiting for that magic answer to help you feel better.

Eff that!  Let's shift those feelings now!

I got you.  I have the answer and you're probably gonna laugh or maybe feel stupid for not thinking of this yourself.  It's called MOVEMENT.  And in addition to movement there is also intention and action.

So here's what you do.  You affirm to the Universe or The Big Man himself as I like to say, and you tell the big man himself that you no longer want to feel this way and you are going to shift it.  Now it's out there - Your voice telling the big man himself that you don't like the way you are feeling and you are going to nip that in the butt asap!

Then you move.  Then you'll feel better.

I know, crazy right?

Intention + Action + Movement = Magic

Here's what you gotta do to stay sane...Here is the magical formula, and all it takes to shift your mood is literally a few seconds of movement.

 

HERE'S YOUR PLAN OF ACTION:

- Move your body

-Do the Hokey Pokey

- Swim it out

- run it off

-jump it off

- Aerobic it out

- Dance it out

-Do the Macarena, Electric Slide, Roger Rabbit, Running Man or any other "popular" dance - Pick one I guarantee you'll be laughing by the end.

Need something more simple?

- 3 deep breaths in and out

- Stretch it out {warm up stretches, PT stretches}

- Meditate it out

- Shower it out (water has a way of refreshing the body the mind and soul)

- Epsom salt bath it out

- Walk around the apartment/house

- Get off social media, in fact turn your phone off for a bit

- Read a book - even if it is just one chapter!

- Read a magazine - even it it's just one page!

- File (I'm so serious) (filing actually gets your mind off your crap, and let's you organize your crap creating more room in your brain for other things).

- Write a thank you note

- Do something for someone else

- Organize your closet, pantry, dresser drawers

- Organize your closet, then donate - and donate that day

- Bake

- Sing to your favorite song

- Play with a baby or hug an animal (being there for someone else is a huge energy releaser)

- Rap to Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice

-Groove in your own home to the song Holding Out For A HERO from the Footloose movie Soundtrack and dance like nobody is watching

- Just Vogue

- Sing to Christmas Carols in the middle of the Summer

- And the list goes on...

Now you have it.  The golden ticket.  The missing piece to the puzzle.  The needle in the haystack.

Dancing, singing and stretching/yoga always work for me.  You just have to learn what makes you sing, and then do it when you are in a funk.  Consider your energy shifted.

HERE'S WHY DOING SOMETHING LIKE THIS IS IMPORTANT:

There comes a time or times or many times in people's lives where for some reason that funk feels worse then life itself even if it's just for a moment.  It's a fleeting feeling but feels so real when it's happening. It's a feeling you cannot explain, but you can feel it and it feels all wrong.  It's like there is bad energy blocked or stuck somewhere inside your body and you are trying to move it but don't know how.

It happens all the time, energy getting stuck.  There are plenty of inner blocks as there are outer blocks. Moving and grooving moves that energy through your body, instead of back staying stuck inside.  Just moving a bit during the moment when you feel "off" is the best thing you can possibly do for yourself.  Don't you want to feel free?

I think the best part of this practice is that when you are done you feel so much better.  And that is because you moved your energy.  Sometimes energy gets stuck.  It's not always good energy and it's not always bad energy.  But if you want to change your mood instantly and get rid of that energy, then this is the best way to do it and feel great afterwards!  And when we feel great, what happens?  Miracles!
