It’s so fitting that I would be writing the recap to Gabby Bernstein’s FREE workshop for her newly launched book “The Universe Has Your Back – How To Transform Fear to Faith”. The FREE workshop I attended was back in August, and today is Gabby’s book launch, which I’ll be attending, because hello! I love her work! She inspires me deeply.
Gabby makes me see differently. Her words remind me that we are capable of so much more then we think. Her words lift me up. Her words are a reminder that by shifting our thoughts, giving up our fears and concerns to the Universe and then taking action accordingly, we expand as beings.
It’s like you just entered a room with the most supportive people imaginable. Even though it’s hundreds or thousands of people that you may not know (maybe you do), you still have the most supportive bunch on the planet. Because of this support you are walking into a room of positive energy and you can literally feel it, even if you don’t believe in energy or the law of attraction or positive vibes, you feel those vibes and it’s electric! It’s as if you entered the womb, the mothership the place where no matter who you are, you will be supported and this wonderful group of people will “get” you, and what you are going through and they will welcome you with open arms and without judgement. It’s like it’s one big therapy session in a really, really good and loving way.
This is the “following” that Gabby created, or rather the people that flocked to her teachings. And you have your mix of people; the gals who summer at the Hamptons, the Brooklynites, the New Yorkers and those all around the world, I kid you not – all around the world – who want something more. It’s not just one type of person. We just all flock to her presence because we want to feel those vibrations too and she can teach us how. No pedestal here, just love.
This is not about religion or faith, it’s about having faith in yourself and learning the laws of attraction and how the Universe works. By working with the Universe you can open up your world, but first you have to learn how. You need to know that there is something much bigger then your friends/family/boyfriend/husband/teacher out there supporting you – it’s the Universe.
You are being guided. Always. You just have to listen and take action. Small steps of action. Suddenly when you know you are being supported, life doesn’t seem as scary or daunting or hard to figure out. The constant nagging of the why’s, the “why is this happening to me” suddenly becomes “this is happening for me”. It’s a huge perspective SHIFT, and once you are able to shift your perception, the world opens up to you, like a mama bear giving you a huge bear hug of “everything is going to be ok, you can do this, you’ve got this! I have faith in you now lets get moving, we have shit to do and accomplish and lastly you are loved, you are meant to be loved, and you are meant to have what you desire, patience, plus a shit load of peace”.
When you walk the planet knowing the above, and knowing that you too can learn how to develop the right tools to transform your fear (in yourself, in the world, fear of what you can do vs. fear of what you cannot do) into faith (and not faith in religion, but faith in yourself, faith in your capability, faith in the fact that you are a child of God, you are meant to be here and you are meant to have meaning and purpose just like everyone else, you deserve it all!), you can relax knowing that you are being guided. You can let go of the excess baggage you have been carrying around, because all is ok, and all will be ok.
When I write my recap Gabby posts, I love to just write all the quotes that I jotted down during the workshop that moved me, that resonated with me, that made me understand just a little more, that made me drop my fear just a little bit more, that made me see differently and inspired so deeply that I want to do the same for you.
So here we go:
“Witness your resistance. Vibration starts with what you are thinking and feeling.”
“Every thought vibrates.”
“Everything you are receiving good and bad – you have asked for.”
“When you are not feeling good, you are resisting.”
“When you are feeling good you are in flow with the Universe.”
“Resistance happens when we put our attention on what we don’t want.”
“Focusing on the absence of something keeps it absent.”
“Often when you are thinking about the desire, you are thinking of what you don’t want.” (Which is the opposite)
“Focus on your wellness, not your illness. This clears the path to manifestation.” This is a quote from Gabby Bernstein’s friend Aimee Raupp that I so adore, so I had to add this here.
“Don’t focus on what you don’t want because what you do want can’t come.” This simply means there is no space for what you want to come, if your focus is so deeply seeded in what you don’t want.
Exercise: Give it over to God/Universe/Spirit
I am witnessing I am giving up my desire to be ________________
with thoughts like _________
with energy like___________
with comments like_____________
But I am willing to see this differently.
And then witness your resistance.
Give it over to God/Universe/Spirit so you can recalibrate towards higher thoughts.
Disengage from negative thoughts.
Play the game “Wouldn’t it be nice”. Whether you are in the car, the elevator, on a road trip, a plane, in your house, at a party with friends, before bed or where ever you are play this game. Give your mind a chance to feel positive vibrations by focusing on good things that you want.
Out loud, and everyone gets a turn, say “Wouldn’t it be nice if ____________”.
Whether it seems like a fantasy, or something that won’t come true, say your desires anyway. It elevates your vibration, your mind and your level of anxiety. This exercise will uplift your whole being. It will create higher feelings, and higher vibrations naturally.
Ask for what you want. Deactivate a thought by activating a new thought.
Exercise: The Desire List
Write out what it is that you want.
This is not about making a Santa list – this is about truly getting clear with what it is that you want, and the BECAUSE has to come from a place of joy. This is inside inner work.
Example: I want to heal my insomnia because I want to have a better quality of life, and I can share more with the world.
The longer you do this the more you are in joy and have the ability to manifest.
How does that desire make you feel?
Affirmation / Mantra time:
“Everything is happening around me, I am fully taken care of.”
Write this down, say it out loud, put it on a sticky note, and stick it on your mirror. Remember it. Say it. Every. Single. Day. Put it in your phone as a reminder.
But be kind to yourself, and notice or “Witness your resistance”.
You have to believe it. And by repeating this process, you eventually will. Give it a go for 90 days. Uplift yourself for 90 days with all or one of these exercises and see at the end of the 90 days how you feel, and if anything changed. I can guarantee you it will. It can’t not, you are vibrating on a different, higher, more positive frequency.
“If you want to manifest, feel that light, feel that positivity, move forward and get unstuck, you have to give off the right signal through Appreciation, Appreciate through words, through action and spread and share your Appreciation.”
“Creative visualizations suspend disbelief and let what you desire flow and become real.”
‘What makes you become alive? What brings you joy? What elevates your mood?’
For me (Julie) if I turn on the music to a playlist I love, my mood is elevated almost immediately. I have always loved music, but more recently I have forgotten it’s power, and it’s ability to shift. And it helps every single time. For me, music creates a shift in my perception.
Receive and Allow:
“Accept what you ask for is given.”
Box of desires – give this to the Universe
“Wait without anxiety.”
“When you have more faith in your belief, then you can afford to wait without anxiety.”
“The more joyful you are the more you bring to the table.”
“Manifestation is about joy not neediness.”
“When you don’t get what you want or it doesn’t work out the way you hoped, know it’s a detour in the right direction.”
“The Universe has a much better plan then you do, even if you can’t see it yet.”
“Be where you are with how you feel.”.
“Let yourself be there.
And then reach for the next vibration that feels good.”
And what does Gabby mean by next vibration? At the workshop Gabby taught us about the “Abraham – Hicks Emotional Guidance Scale”. According to the scale there are a number of emotions that we feel on a day to day basis; 1 being the highest energetic feeling possible (joy/love) and 22 being the lowest energetic feeling possible (fear).
Take a look at the list, and refer back to it at any time. This isn’t about rating yourself, but instead allows hope and inspiration to take place while sitting with your thoughts and where you are. Even if you are in the most negative spot on this list, you can only move up from there, so it should provide a sense of relief during times like that. Read the list. Look at the emotions. Taste them, feel them. Where do you feel you are right now? And know at any moment these can always change. We move through our feelings.

I leave you with this picture of the bathroom floor in the event space where Gabby spoke. Yes, it’s a beautiful picture right? No it’s totally gross, but on the floor almost un-noticeable is a tiny little soft feather. And I never would have noticed it, had I not looked down when I flushed the toilet. If you are not familiar with Archangels or the Universe’s small ways of letting you know you are guided, this is one of them: Feathers. I don’t always see feathers, but when I do, I am filled with joy every time. I nod. Because I know I’m on the right path. It’s a reminder. So next time you see a feather, smile. You are supported.
