Honor where you are right now. The comparison game will get you every time. Have you ever realized your lesson midway through an obsessive OCD experience?
Anxiety at its best. And if you have anxiety you know it well.
I used to say to myself often "Can't you just honor the place you're in? You have been dying to get to this place you're in right now, why can't that be enough?"
You see once we get to that place we are dying to get to, suddenly there's a new level we all want to achieve, and we do not celebrate the milestones we have accomplished, instead, we continue to compare and therefore begin to create new goals based not on our souls, but our competition. From there it slowly goes downhill.
So I stopped trying to control it. I stopped comparing. And I realize that anything I fuel my love into is gorgeous enough. Everything I've done thus far is amazing. So I'm going to honor that and sit in this space that I've been dying to get to for a little while.
NEW MANTRA:
So say it with me because I know you're in a comparison game yourself. Make this your mantra! I've made it mine too.
"Everything I've done thus far is amazing!"
Now sit in that space for a while and see how it feels to be here!
P.S. Guess what?! News flash! That milestone you are dying to hit? It's gonna happen with time! But don't forget about the past milestones you've already hit because those are worth celebrating too.
