Have you ever had an Acai superfood powder that tastes so magical, you swore it’s a drink of the god’s? And then add cacao to it? Well, that’s how it is with this decadent and nutritious smoothie!! There is so much goodness in this 16oz smoothie, you’re gonna go wild when you realize that I just about hid almost everything inside this decadent being.
Healthy, vegan, paleo, gluten-free, sugar-free, soy-free, nut-free (coconut is used), banana-free and the list goes on. Despite all the free-from in this smoothie, taste has definitely NOT been eliminated. I mean look at this gorgeousness! Are you drooling right now?
So I should probably just tell you that I’m really, really picky when it comes to choosing gluten-free superfood powders! Like really picky. I feel that I have to be with my body and over time I have learned this. Given my reasoning, I only use two brands (so far) for superfoods that I TRUST wholeheartedly. For me, the powders must be certified gluten-free and at a lower PPM then 20. Some people with Celiac Disease are not strict when it comes to this and while that may be okay for them, it’s not okay for me. And since it’s not okay for me, I’m pretty sure it’s not ok for you.
I first started using superfood powders that said they were gluten-free but weren’t tested. And guess what? I reacted over time and it took me a bit longer to figure out where the gluten reactions were coming from. As you know, anything that is certified gluten-free even under 20ppm still has gluten in it, and over time it builds up. And anything manufactured in a gluten-free facility and not tested will also build up over time.
With that said, there are two brands I adore! And they should be shared.
Acai powder, when mixed with carob or chocolate, is the most divine superfood powder I have ever tasted!
Organic Acai powder from Healthy Truth tastes like red cocoa. It’s quite wild in the taste department because it doesn’t taste like the usual ACAI that you may be used to, it’s more earthy in taste making this special. It’s raw, and not freeze-dried.
The Acai made at Nuts dot com taste more berry-like and are freeze-dried.
Both have different textures and different tastes. And the two mentioned are both GREAT!
You cannot go wrong with either of them.

Loaded with magnesium, manganese, potassium, iron, B1 Thiamin, B2, B3, vitamin C and E. And plenty of Omega 3’s and 9’s which are ever rarely found in a fruit. Plus essential amino acids and MASSIVE antioxidants. And that’s just in one teaspoon. For this recipe, we use MUCH MORE. Big boost!
I made this smoothie with the Healthy Truth raw organic Acai and I have to say it tasted like red chocolate.
That’s why I added beets and cherries to this delight because all the flavors are amazing, plus the amount of anti-oxidants you’re getting from this one smoothie alone is astronomical in a good way! Then I added a Cherry Square Bar on top because why not? It made this smoothie a total breakfast protein meal! And I like those in the mornings. How about you? Are you a smoothie girl? I’d love to hear from you dear one!
